1996-Zawtika (Jotika) Robe Manufacturing and General Trading was founded and the brand name Zawtika (Jotika) was registered. Zawtika was a famous rich man’s name (jotika) in India, 2600 years ago.
1999-The first retail shop of Zawtika (Jotika) Saffron Robes & Requisites with other utensils for Buddhist monks was opened in Yangon, the former capital city of Myanmar.
The garment factory for manufacturing robes was also established and run in Bahan, near the Shwedagon Pagoda, the most sacred religious symbol of Buddhism.
2006-More retail outlets of Zawtika (Jotika) were opened and it was restructured and incorporated as Zawtika International Company Ltd. after opening the sixth retail shop of Zawtika (Jotika).
2011-Zawtika (Jotika) group’s retail chains now total up to ten shops and, as business expansion of Zawtika (Jotika) grows, MBSS Mall has been opened to create a market place for donors to donate necessities for Buddhist monks.
Goods including lacquers, gems, pictures, traditional paintings, Myanmar handicrafts & arts, etc. are available and other product items are sold in the shops of “Healthy All Pharmacy”, Beauty All Fashion Corner, Tha Aung Bookstore, Big-Shops Supermarket, Zawtika (Jotika) Robes Shop, Myanmar Handicraft Shop and TAB Book Centre at Taw Win Centre, the biggest shopping mall in Myanmar. International books, local books, stationery and IT products with accessories are sold there.
